The ramblings of a lost technocrat...

Your typical Agnostic loves to quote the facts. They can often be heard saying things like “Facts people! - they’re not some made up fairy tale you have to make yourself believe in!”

I should know. now Nothing infuriates an agnostic/atheist than a person that denies the facts of the world while sitting there praising the wonders of their new Tom Tom software for their iPhone. (An aside Tom Tom is nice software and its Aussie version has been nicely updated). It’s like there’s a disconnect between their belief system and the fact that the same science that makes their gadgets work, what, oh yea back to the Apps for Agnostics & Atheist thing.

Sorry, but we interrupt the usual program for some humour:

US Democracy Server: Patch Day
Version 44.0
President
  • Leadership: Will now scale properly to national crises. Intelligence was not being properly applied.
  • A bug has been fixed that allowed the President to ignore the effects of debuffs applied by the Legislative classes.
  • Drain Treasury: There appears to be a bug that allowed loot to be transferred from the treasury to anyone on the President’s friends list, or in the President’s party. We are investigating.

It's a funny thing the American sense of self - even on Inauguration Day they feel free to express their feelings about GW Bush.

Can't wait for a similarly prophetic piece on Obama! Even Clinton's work to eliminate the US deficit by 2012 has gone out the window.

On the eve of the Presidential Inauguration, may I present a small piece of Satire that I somehow missed last week

After eight long, tiresome years, President Al Gore won't be missed. Even if he did save the planet

I urge not to miss the point of this article (like some of the commentators) it's both satire and a simple reminder that humans will find something to be unhappy about if they so choose.

Well what a nice little surprise from our esteemed PM, he's gone all Little Johnny on us.

As most Aussie's will be aware our recently elected Prime Minister promised all students (in years 9-12) a government provided computer - that process is finally bearing fruit. Unfortunately NSW being effectively broke and run by a bunch of gutless wonders has decided to go for the cheapest option possible and ask for the impossible from suppliers...

May I please, breifly break our regular programming and point your attention to this petition in support of Bill Henson.

The Liberal Party/Coalition is still polling badly with the Australian Electorate despite what could arguably be called the biggest vote buying budget in decades. Despite the Labour Party's position that WorkChoices is the reason for their record breaking improvement in the polls, or the massive advertising campaign by the Unions pushing a similar stance - I don't think WorkChoices is the reason.
