On the eve of the Presidential Inauguration, may I present a small piece of Satire that I somehow missed last week
After eight long, tiresome years, President Al Gore won't be missed. Even if he did save the planet
[From TA Frank: The change we need | The Guardian ]
I urge not to miss the point of this article (like some of the commentators) it's both satire and a simple reminder that humans will find something to be unhappy about if they so choose.
As my two favourite quotes say:
"Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be." -Abraham Lincoln.
"Argue for your limitations, and sure enough, they're yours." -Richard Bach.
In a period of great hope - not just for Americans but for the rest of the world as well (let's be honest I miss the USA, I mean the great, proud, advanced country of old) - it pays to understand just how bad the last 8 years have been. Of course, satirical articles like this might be a good reference point in 4 or 8 years time - I'm hoping it will be 8 years and American's will regret that a President can only server 2 terms in Office.

I've been described as a lost technocrat or a wondering luddite, personally I just like everything that takes us forward.
