iTunes 8.0.2 & iPhone 2.2 Updates
Well folks hot on the heals of the of the AppleTV 2.3 update comes an new iTunes 8.0.2 and new iPhone love as well in the form of the long rumored iPhone 2.2 Firmware.
You can get iTunes 8.0.2 from your friend Software Update, and the iPhone 2.2 Firmware from iTunes. (It's not clear if you need iTunes 8.0.2 for the iPhone 2.2 Firmware).
iTunes 8.0.2 notes:
iTunes 8.0.2 improves stability and performance and provides a number of important bug fixes, including:
- Addresses a quality issue creating MP3s on some computers.
- Fixes a connectivity issue with the iTunes Store when using some Internet proxies with Mac OS X.
- Improves accessibility with VoiceOver.
iPhone 2.2 Firmware notes:
- Enhancements to Maps
- Google Street View*
- Public transit and walking directions
- Display address of dropped pins
- Share location via email
- Decrease in call setup failures and dropped calls
- Enhancements to Mail
- Resolved isolated issues with scheduled fetching of email
- Improved formatting of wide HTML email
- Podcasts are now available for download in iTunes application (over Wi-Fi and cellular network)
- Improved stability and performance of Safari
- Improved sound quality of Visual Voicemail messages
- Pressing Home button from any Home screen displays the first Home screen
- Preference to turn on/off auto-correction in Keyboard Settings
