I'm just Geeking out tonight - 14 amateur satellites set to launch June 28th

Technorati Tags: ,

On of my favourite sites Engadget had this great story on 14 amateur CubeSats set to launch June 28th

Literally anyone with US$40,000 can build a kit satellite and then for another $40k get it launched into space!! Arthur C Clarke must be geeking out when he see's things like this going on in the world.

The problem with things like this is not having idea's for your kit satellite's functions but getting your hands on the money to fund it... so close, yet so far.

I must admit I haven't read any of the masters works since "The Trigger" and "The Light of Other Days" - does anyone have any good words for his more recent ones? Like Time's Eye and the sequels Sunstorm or The Last Theorem?
