Good news! I finally found the motivation to move of the crippled Apple version of Blojsom and onto Moveable Type which ecto seems to like a lot better and which is also a lot easier to configure - not to mention plug-ins and themes and all sorts of goodness.
The Bad News - my motivation came in the form of the near simultaneous failure of the two hard disks that were set up in RAID 0. Actually it may as well have been simultaneous as the weekly backups to CD appear to be corrupt all the way back to Australia Day.
So big deal you say - except I lost all the entries in this blog since then, all the comments and I spent a weekend resurrecting the server instead of being out taking photo's or something else equally rewarding :) During this process I found Matt's excellent blog entry on his Backup Strategy which I've naturally adapted to my environment. Hopefully under this strategy lightening will literally have to strike the server and the external disks and the archive cabinet to put me in this situation again. In which event, I will just give up.
As it stands I've lost about 80 entries and several weeks worth of work on the website from a configuration point of view, not to mention comments etc. So I've got a lot of catch work to do.
